  • Loading supervised by the operations team and, where required, a surveyor
  • Sharing shipment updates with exporters and consignees

Rail Solutions Tailored to Your Cargo

International rail transport involves more than moving cargo by wagon: access to the station, loading, document preparation and delivery conditions at the destination must all be assessed together. Translog plans wagon transport alongside these stages to develop an operation suited to the customer's requirements.

Wagon selection takes account of individual cargo dimensions, loading methods and positioning inside the wagon, as well as total weight. Covered, open and platform wagons serve different operating requirements. The appropriate option is selected according to the cargo characteristics and the requirements of the line being used.

Rail transport does not offer the same advantages or transit times for every shipment. Transport options must be assessed together with the route, cargo volume and terminal conditions. Connections with other methods through our integrated logistics services are also considered according to the needs of the operation.

Wagon Loading and Documentation

Preparing the wagon for loading, assessing cargo positioning and arranging the necessary transport documents are complementary stages. Consistency between the piece list, weights, packaging details and documentation helps ensure that reliable information is available at every point in the shipment.

Translog's rail services address inland transport, customs clearance coordination, wagon loading and transport documentation together. Where requested, the need to prepare rail and sea bills of lading, invoices and packing lists in English or Russian is assessed. The language and scope of each document are clarified according to the operation's requirements.

Loading is carried out under the supervision of the operations team and, where required, a surveyor. Additional inspection needs for valuable or special cargo are assessed separately. Storage and transfer to the station are planned according to the loading date and shipment scope.

International Lines and Shipment Tracking

For rail shipments, route and line availability must be assessed for the period in which the shipment is planned. Historical service sources list Iran, Central Asia, the Balkans and various European destinations. Inclusion in a reference list does not mean that a destination is served by the same line or with the same transit time at every date.

It is important for exporters and consignees to know the stage their cargo has reached. Shipment tracking aims to maintain information flow from wagon loading to the destination. Any route changes or transfer requirements are considered together with the transport plan.

Terminal stages are assessed separately for shipments requiring sea or road connections. Road transport can support access to the station or movement to the final delivery point. For Caspian region operations, combining different transport methods is also among the available options.

Capacity, Transit Time and Quotation Assessment

The wagon dimensions and transit time tables on this page are technical references compiled from the former website. When a transport plan is prepared, the actual dimensions, loading capacity and suitability of the wagon are confirmed separately. Comparing reference values with cargo specifications supports an initial assessment; it does not replace a definitive plan.

Please provide the origin and destination, cargo type, number of pieces, dimensions and weights in your enquiry. You should also specify how the loading and delivery addresses connect to the rail terminal, any storage requirements and the expected shipment date. This allows wagon and route options to be considered together.

Transit times may vary with line conditions, transfers and the operating plan. For current transport options and cost information, contact the Translog operations team. The tables and actual rail operation photographs below help illustrate the technical scope of the service.
